Associate Creative Director

Associate Creative Director
Berlin, Germany · Full-time · On-site

About the Studio
Colors And The Kids is a design, motion, and music studio based in Berlin, working globally with partners like Apple, IBM, Google, Microsoft, Okta, Lego, Nike. We explore how design, sound, and technology can create emotional resonance, translating ideas into visual and sonic experiences for brands, screens, spaces, and systems.

The Role
We are looking for an Associate Creative Director. Someone with design sensibility and a deep understanding of the creative process and production pipeline, capable of developing ideas from concept exploration to delivery with both vision and technical precision.

What You'll Do

  • Lead projects independently or in close collaboration with senior creatives
  • Collaborate on the execution and production of high-quality, multi-platform assets across 3D, CGI, animation, 2D, and experiential formats, working hands-on with the team from concept through delivery
  • Stay attuned to emerging tools and aesthetics

What You Bring

  • 8–12 years in motion design or 3D, including 2+ years leading creative teams or workstreams as a Creative Lead, 3D Director, or similar role at a creative-focused agency or in-house at a leading brand
  • Proven ability to develop and own creative concepts, translating brand strategy and loose briefs into clear visual directions the team can execute against
  • Strong hands-on 3D background. You can open a scene, diagnose a problem, and demonstrate the fix. Animation, lighting, and texturing fluency essential. Houdini required, Cinema 4D a bonus
  • Experience directing and mentoring designers and animators, giving feedback that elevates work without taking it over
  • Confidence presenting work and creative rationale to clients, and judgment on when to defend a direction and when to adapt
  • A portfolio that shows both craft and authorship: work you made, and work you led
  • Production literacy. You scope realistically, anticipate pipeline bottlenecks, and know what quality costs in time
  • Calm under parallel deadlines, precise in your work, respectful in your communication

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary that reflects your experience and contribution
  • Germany-wide rail pass (Deutschlandticket)
  • No overtime culture. We respect your free time. Evenings and weekends are yours
  • A collaborative team culture where success is shared
  • Time and space to learn, experiment, and develop new skills
  • Equal opportunities and an inclusive, respectful working environment
  • At least one team offsite per year to exchange ideas, reflect, and celebrate together

Intern

We rarely take interns. In 18 years, we've had five. But there's always a chance. If your portfolio already shows an advanced level of work, personal projects that make us stop scrolling, we'd love to hear from you.
